the sound is terrible and my unit was a faded gray. I orginally thought it would be great on the deck or just to use when I was outside. This was one of the worst purchases I have ever made. Probably ok for a very small room, like a bathroom or closet. I am very disappointed in this product.
The top volume setting is way too quiet. I work with an oven close to me, and can barely hear the radio when it's turned up. Speakers put out a constant faint buzz also. Not very good quality.
I listen to it as I either go to sleep or in the morning. I have a MiFi device and this XM3020 docking / speaker system is super nice for my application. I sometimes use headphones and sometimes I dont. I have it in my bedroom so I dont need it to be LOUD. It can get a little bit loud but it isnt designed to be a rockin device. Both applications work very well. My only drawback is I wish it had a sleep timer mechanism on it.
I actually already had one of these and I liked it so much that I bought another one to use out in my garage for the convenience of just being able to take my XM MyFi receiver from the dock in the house and pop it in the dock in my garage.The sound quality and features are incredible and it even comes with an outdoor antenna with 20 feet of coax. This little unit has a terrific sound quality and we are thoroughly enjoying it, especially during the holiday season.I highly recommend this item.
